Ladbrokes best price for Benzema to light up Euros

Karim Benzema has been in fine form for Real Madrid this season and looks poised to continue that at Euro 2012 this summer, and Ladbrokes are offering the best price of 20/1 on the striker taking the golden boot at the Championships.

France are being tipped as a possible surprise package in Poland and Ukraine with the new generation including the likes of Yohan Cabaye, Yann M’Vila and Benzema himself leading the charge, Les Bleus are 10/1 to lift the trophy.

The Los Blancos hitman has been superb of late, notching 30 goals throughout the campaign in only 38 starts.

His displays for his country have seen him net 13 goals from his 42 caps, as he has performed consistently through a particularly turbulent time for French international football, culmimating in an unsuccessful World Cup campaign in 2010.

The 24-year old did not take part in South Africa and this year’s tournament will be only his second major international competition, after he was part of the Euro 2008 squad.

A rejuvenated side under Laurent Blanc, the French have remained unbeaten since September 2010 and their free flowing attacking style under the former Man United centre back is suited perfectly to the striker’s game.

Perhaps Benzema’s most impressive feat this year has been keeping Bernabeu favourite Gonzalo Higuain out of the side.

Earlier in the season Jose Mourinho seemed undecided as to who was to be his first choice number nine, but the second half of the campaign has seen Benzema tie down a starting berth with the Argentinian having to make do with cameos from the bench.

The forward will head to the Euros with a La Liga medal and a wealth of confidence, eager to build on his reputation as one of Europe’s deadliest frontmen.
