Spurs v Bolton is a fixture that regularly rains goals

Bolton have not kept a clean sheet in their last 12 Premier League matches and that is one reason why 4/6 looks a decent price that over 2.5 goals are scored in their home clash with Tottenham.

Owen Coyle’s men have boosted their chances of safety by embarking on a three-game unbeaten run and know that only a point will see them move out of the bottom three with just two league fixtures remaining.

However, being at home there is a strong chance that they will go all-out for victory, particularly with Tottenham being largely hit and miss on their travels.

Goals have been common in Bolton outings lately, with both of their last two games witnessing a minimum of three goals and eight of their last 11 in the Premier League.

Showdowns between Tottenham and Bolton have commonly rained goals in recent seasons, with Spurs landing the spoils 3-0 in the league at White Hart Lane back in December.

They have also met at the same ground in the FA Cup since, with Spurs running out 3-1 winners despite the game being goalless with less than 20 minutes remaining.

In total, all of the last four encounters between the pair have met the over 2.5 goal line, alongside three of the past four to be played at the Reebok Stadium.

Furthermore, Bolton have failed to keep a single clean sheet in their last ten Premier League games with Spurs.

The one potential negative for the bet is that goals have been sparse for Tottenham on the road of late, as they have not scored in their last four away fixtures.

But they have never previously gone five successive Premier League away games without scoring and punters have to look back to 1983 to find the last time that they reached this unwanted landmark.
