Webber and not Hamilton to keep record going at Monaco Grand Prix

Never before have the first six Grand Prix of a Formula One season been won by six different drivers and it is 7/4 that Mark Webber causes this feat to be accomplished in Monaco.

Heading into the Monaco Grand Prix it was touted by many pundits that Lewis Hamilton’s luck was due to change and that it would be he that claimed a first win of the season after a string of podiums and misfortune.

However, it is Webber that has the better chance on a circuit known for its limited overtaking opportunities as he will start from the front of the grid.

It was Michael Schumacher that set the fastest time in qualifying, but he has been shunted back to sixth on the grid as a penalty for an incident with Bruno Senna in the last race in Spain.

This has resulted in Webber being on pole position, with Nico Rosberg being promoted to the front row and Hamilton still in a strong position in third.

The changes mean that Red Bull are starting on pole for the third year in succession and now the hope will be a third consecutive victory in the principality, with Webber out to repeat his start-to-finish success in 2010.

Further good news for Webber is that the short distance to the first corner in Monaco should allow him to retain the lead even if gaining a notorious slow start.

In the opening five races of the campaign, Webber has dropped seven positions on lap one.

If Webber does make a meal of the start, Hamilton could be the driver to capitalise and therefore 10/3 could be good value that the McLaren man does end his wait for a first success of the season.
