Nadal looking nice to notch up number eight at French Open

RAFAEL NADAL is just even money to win a record eighth French Open title next year, according to Ladbrokes.

After surpassing Bjorn Borg’s haul of six trophies Nadal is now just even money to secure his fourth consecutive title next year, taking him up to the elusive number eight.

The bookies also quote the Spaniard at 3/1 to rack up ten French Open wins before 2020, securing his place in history officially as the King of Clay.

Novak Djokovic and Nadal share favouritism at 2/1 for victory at Wimbledon this month after punters backed the Serbian into 2/1 from 9/4. Whilst third favourite Roger Federer (9/2) will be aiming for his seventh British Grand Slam. Andy Murray enters the market as a 7/1 chance.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “At just 26 years old it’s hard to see how Nadal won’t reach ten French Open titles. A Nadal-Djokovic Wimbledon final would be impossible to call, but it’s what the punters want.”

She added: “We’ve barely laid a penny on Murray’s maiden major, but a win Queen’s Club will see patriotic money flood in.”
