Carolynne Poole on track to reach X Factor live shows this time

Published:

Carolynne Poole is one of a number of contestants returning for another crack at the X Factor and based on the early betting, she stands to do a lot better than 12 months ago.

She was mentioned on this site as a dark horse for victory 12 months ago being one of the stronger acts in the overs category, but was sent home by Louis Walsh at the judges house stage.

However, she is the third favourite to triumph this year at 6/1 after all of the auditions thanks to a wowing performance of the Emeli Sande song ‘Clown’.

Another of the returning acts is Melanie McCabe, who made it through to the same stage of the show before being told that she would not be going any further by Kelly Rowland.

Melanie is 33/1 to win the X Factor this year.

To be fair to both acts, they are seemingly more highly regarded this year as they have been allocated more of the early air time.

Last year, they were hardly shown at all up until the judges house stage and although it was nothing to do with voters that they were sent home, they would have struggled to make an impact if reaching the live shows.

They will have time to gain an early fan base this year and for Carolynne in particular, this could put her on the way to victory.

Carolynne was the final contestant on the last of the audition shows and this may also help keep her fresher in the memory than other acts who have now been off air for three to four weeks.

Another contestant to impress in the final batch of auditions was Robbie Hance, who has been living homeless on the streets of London.

His acoustic rendition of the Damien Rice hit ‘Coconut Skins’ went down a storm and Ladbrokes are offering by far the best price of 33/1 that he wins the X Factor.
