Kieswetter and Duminy big value to top runs charts in final ODI

South Africa have not lost three successive ODI games since 2008 and even though their focus may already be on returning home, they can level the series at Trent Bridge.

England have done miraculously well to hold a 2-1 advantage heading into the final meeting of the ODI series, but South Africa can triumph here at 4/5.

It is slightly surprising that England are 1/1 underdogs given their recent two victories, but their batting difficulties will catch up with them here.

Ravi Bopara has managed just 22 runs in three innings in the series, while captain Alastair Cook has only ten more despite enjoying an extra innings at the crease.

With Jonathan Trott doubtful after injuring a hand batting in the last ODI, this is another negative.

England’s struggles with the bat are another reason why Craig Kieswetter looks a tempting proposition at 10/1 to be their top runscorer in the fifth ODI.

The wicketkeeper has scored over 100 runs in his last two international visits to Trent Bridge and the only weakness in his favour is that if England bat second and dismiss South Africa cheaply, he may not get much time at the crease from a batting position of six.

For South Africa, JP Duminy appears to have won the tussle with Dean Edgar and Faf du Plessis to bat at number three.

This fact alone means he is worth siding with at 6/1 to be South Africa’s top runscorer at Trent Bridge.

Alternatively, AB de Villiers has got a start in the last three matches but failed to convert any into at least a half-century.

This could change and De Villiers is 4/1 to top the South African scoring charts.
