Ladbrokes take biggest ever CBB bet on Clary victory

JULIAN CLARY has been subject to the largest bet ever placed on a Big Brother contestant, according to Ladbrokes.

The comedian has been the odds-favourite to win since the start of the week, and immediately after Wednesday’s double eviction a bet of £15,000 was placed with the firm for Julian to be crowned victorious at odds of 8/11, which would see the punter collect winnings just shy of £26,000.

Julian’s now chalked up at 4/7, with original housewives’ favourite Martin Kemp the only serious contender at 10/3 to steal the crown from under his nose. Coleen’s given a 7/1 chance of causing an upset along with The Situation at 10/1.

However, the odds are there to be defied as Jedward found out in 2011, they began the final day as the red-hot favourite at 1/4, only to finish third being denied by My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty.

Ashley (20/1) and MC Harvey (50/1) find themselves as the rank outsiders for glory on Friday night.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Julian’s had this title in the bag for a while and it would be a huge upset if he walks away empty handed. Martin has been his long-term rival in the betting throughout the series and at this late stage we can only see the Spandau star causing a possible upset.”
