Robson can upset third Grand Slam winner to lead 10/1 US Open treble

Laura Robson’s giant-killing spree has already brought the demise of Kim Clijsters and Na Li at the US Open and a third big name can fall in defending champion Sam Stosur.

Robson is 9/4 to beat Stosur and this is one of three tips that have been combined to bring a 10/1 payday at Flushing Meadow.

Stosur has not won a single tournament of any note since beating Serena Williams in the US Open final 12 months ago and has not triumphed in four matches in any of her last five hard-court events.

This does not bode well heading into the fourth round of the US Open, although Stosur is unlikely to give up the number of free points that Li did in the last round.

But Robson’s new-found confidence will be a mighty boost and it usually never pays to go against a hot streak.

World number one Victoria Azarenka is another player who can do little wrong, steam rollering her way into the fourth round.

Azarenka has not dropped more than two games in any set in reaching this stage, while she has beaten both Alexandra Panova and Jie Zheng 6-0, 6-1.

Beating Anna Tatishvili should be little problem, but we are backing her at 5/6 to cover a 7.5-game handicap.

Maintaining her run of not dropping two games in a set will obviously land this bet and Tatishvili only won three games when losing to Ekaterina Makarova in her hard-court preparations in Cincinnati recently.

Finally, we turn to Richard Gasquet to overcome talented US youngster Steve Johnson in straight sets at 8/11.

Gasquet has become much more dependable from a betting perspective this season and is 231 positions higher in the ATP rankings than Johnson.
