Chelsea to dominate flailing Norwich and extend Canaries’ winless run

| 04.10.2012

Chelsea have enjoyed their recent meetings with Norwich at Stamford Bridge and, given the contrasting form of both sides, this visit of the Canaries could be the one of the most eagerly anticipated to date.

Chris Hughton’s men have conceded five goals in two separate games this season to sides whose main strengths are not their goalscoring prowess. Chelsea represent an entirely different animal altogether, which makes the 13/8 on offer for them to win with a -2 handicap an excellent bet.

The Blues have dismantled Norwich in recent clashes at the Bridge, winning three of the last four meetings here 4-0, which is available at 10/1 in this one. This is a price that would normally be applied to a 2-0 scoreline, such is the dominance forecast for the hosts.

They’ve scored 12 in their last three, including 6-0 and 4-0 wins either side of notching two against an Arsenal side praised for the defensive sturdiness in the early Premier League exchanges.

With just one shut out in league action, Norwich are sure to be in for a rough ride against a Chelsea team who have players in all departments that can score goals.

A forward, midfielder and defender all cropped up on the scoresheet in the European champions’ 4-0 demolition of Norsjaelland last time out and they are geared up for another goal-fest here.

The 11/10 on offer for a Chelsea win to nil is a decent proposition given the way they haven’t been giving teams a chance in recent weeks.

It’s also the same price for there to be goal notched between 75:00 minutes and full time. This is another solid bet looking at recent clashes between the two in west London, where there have been four Blues goals registered in the final minute of the past four contests.
