Bilbo odds-on to bag the box office records with The Hobbit

Published:

THE HOBBIT trilogy is odds-on to surpass the box office record set by Lord of The Rings according to Ladbrokes.

The eagerly anticipated trilogy has been chalked up at 1/2 by the bookies to rake in more money at the box office globally than its prequel set at $2.91 billion, and it’s also odds-on at 1/4 the first instalment breaks another record by beating Return of the King’s worldwide takings of $1.11 billion.

Unfortunately for ‘An Unexpected Journey’ it’s looking unlikely at 33/1 that it will take home more than 11 Oscars at next year’s ceremony.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “As far as we’re concerned The Hobbit trilogy has already got the new box office records in the bag.”
