Swansea v Chelsea: Hosts fancied to get at least a point

Published:

Swansea started this season emphatically, suffered a blip for a few games and are now showing signs of finding their feet again in the past week.

This unpredictably makes them difficult to place, but does indicate that they are more than capable of getting a result at home to Chelsea.

It is 4/1 that they beat Chelsea, 11/4 that the showdown ends all square and 6/5 on the double chance that they either win or draw.

The Swans have tasted defeat just once in their last eight encounters at the Liberty and interestingly are unbeaten this season in all games in which they have found the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, not only will their cup triumph at Liverpool give them confidence, but the way they played at the Etihad, when they almost certainly deserved to take something from their trip to Manchester City.

Chelsea will want to get back on the winning bandwagon after the home defeat to Manchester United, but may be below their best here.

Playing 120 minutes in the Capital One Cup was far from ideal, while they will also have one eye on the critical midweek Champions League home tie with Shakhtar, which they must win.

Punters preferring to base judgement on the league table, may alternatively think 4/6 is good value on a Chelsea victory.

In terms of a first scorer, Michu has been utilised in attack of late and represents the best home hope of a first Premier League goal in November.

He is 7/1 to break the deadlock.

Juan Mata has been Chelsea’s form player in recent weeks, with four goals in five Premier League appearances and he is 6/1 to open the scoring.
