Redknapp looking to reunite with former Spurs star once more

Harry Redknapp will turn his attention to Niko Krancjar for the third time in his managerial career as he bids to sign him up to the QPR revolution.

The Croatian international – who Redknapp sold to his current club, Dynamo Kiev, in the closing stages of his stint in charge of Tottenham – would bring some much-needed midfield quality to the R’s side and, unlike a lot of their other targets, has already proven himself on the Premier League stage.

It’s thought the man who Redknapp signed for Portsmouth, as well as Spurs, could be available for a move having found himself frozen out of the conclusion of Dynamo’s disappointing Champions League campaign, though he is likely to cost a fair amount.

It’s believed his switch to the Ukrainian capital last summer cost in the region of £7m and it’s unlikely Dynamo are going to take a loss on their investment just a matter of months after making it.

Another potential stumbling block is whether Krancjar would be willing to trade in his new-found life at the right end of the Ukrainian top-flight for a scrap at the wrong end of the English equivalent.

Also, it’s tough to imagine him being overly keen to reunite with Arry considering his former manager wouldn’t give him the time of day, let alone play him, towards the end of the Croat’s Spurs career.

However, should his arm by twisted the same way Loic Remy’s was, there’s no doubt as to how the 28-year-old playmaker could aid the improving R’s.

He has excellent quality with the ball at his feet and, as well as being able to bang one in from range, knows how to pick a pass.

Arguably, the only player of similar ilk in the QPR ranks at present is Adel Taarabt, especially considering how Esteban Granero has struggled to make a positive contribution to their plight thus far, and it’s obvious to see how Krancjar’s acquisition would obviously improve their attacking threat ahead of the season reaching the business end.
