European football: Balotelli can inspire Milan again

Published:

There’s hardly oodles of European football on television this weekend so we’re looking at an enticing trio of Serie A games for our footy fix.

All three matches look like very interesting propositions and, because they’re all in Italy, not only can you sit on your sofa all day, but you don’t even need to change the channel…

Parma v Genoa, ESPN, 11:30

Despite winning their last Serie A game against Lazio, Genoa are still precariously close to the relegation zone and have their away form to largely blame for that.

They’ve won just two of their previous 22 league games on their travels and are 3/1 to pick up all three points in this clash.

Parma may be the big favourites at 10/11 but they’ve not won any of their previous four matches, losing their last two. Backing this game to finish level looks the most tempting bet at 12/5.

Cagliari v AC Milan, ESPN, 14:00

Mario Balotelli began his Milan career with a brace in his debut game against Udinese – and those two goals were enough to see Milan run out 2-1 victors.

He’s the 4/1 favourite to bag first in this clash but faces a difficult task against a Cagliari side who are in a decent run of form.

They’ve not lost in four games, winning two of them and have lost just three of their previous nine home games.

However, Milan have won their last three games against their hosts without so much as conceding a goal and are a decent 7/4 to win to nil again.

Inter Milan v Chievo, ESPN, 19:45

Inter have had a rather torrid time of things in recent weeks and have slipped to fifth in Serie A after going four games without a victory.

They face a Chievo side who have remained resolutely inconsistent this term and have won one, drawn one and lost one of their previous three matches.

Inter have won their last four matches against the visitors without shipping a single goal though and look a decent bet to win at 4/7.
