Matt to finish top of the points in Dancing On Ice props week

Published:

Matt Lapinskas was the subject of the biggest single Dancing On Ice bet in Ladbrokes history earlier this week and this punter should be smiling at the end of props week, which will see the celebrities cut from five to four.

The punter placed £5,000 on Matt at 6/5 to win the show and he has been tasked with controlling three hats during props week.

This is not always the simplest prop to work with, as fellow soap star Danny Young found back in 2010 when stumbling over a bowler hat in his performance, which obviously contributed towards his elimination.

It is 25/1 that the hat brings about Matt’s elimination, with 9/2 the price that he is in the skate-off for the second time this season.

However, after his barnstorming display last week, props week should not prevent another high-scoring performance.

Matt racked up 35.5 points last week, which included three 9s and a particularly high 8.5 from judge Jason Gardiner.

He is yet to give higher than 7.5 to any other contestant thus far, while no other contestant has managed to get a single 9 yet.

Furthermore, the highest combined score aside from Matt’s 35.5 is a 30.5 for Beth Tweddle, which shows how far ahead of the competition he is in terms of skating ability.

Taking into account all of this, 1/1 looks a fine price that Matt scores the most points from the judges on props week.

Beth is 6/4 in this market, but Matt’s main challenge may come from Gareth Thomas at 6/1.

Gareth will be more than familiar with his prop of a rugby ball and some of the tricks he may already be able to perform with it could help produce an exciting performance.
