Spurs stay predicted for Bale despite Bayern interest

| 25.02.2013

The latest speculation suggests that Gareth Bale is top of Pep Guardiola’s summer shortlist at Bayern Munich, but he is still expected to be on Tottenham’s books early next season.

It is 10/11 that Bale is a Spurs player on September 1st 2013 and much will probably depend on whether they qualify for the Champions League next season.

He is certainly doing his utmost to see Tottenham succeed, with six goals in his last four games for the club.

Bale is certainly at the stage now where he has to be playing in Europe’s premier club competition and Spurs have arguably done well to repel the advances of bigger outfits for each of the last two summers.

Real Madrid are known to be admirers, while Guardiola was regularly linked with Bale when in charge at Barcelona.

This appreciation for his talents has reportedly not diminished and a £50m offer could be on the cards at the end of the season.

Guardiola will be looking to build a squad capable of challenging for the Champions League and 20/1 does look a generous price that Bale is a player at the German giants at the start of September.

If Bale is not a Tottenham player, then the betting suggests that he is most likely to head to Real Madrid.

Andre Villas-Boas has compared Bale to Cristiano Ronaldo of late and 4/1 is the price that the pair are together at the Bernabeu next season.

Selling Bale to one of their Premier League rivals would surely be a big mistake from Spurs, but it is 8/1 he joins Manchester City, 20/1 that he heads to Manchester United and 25/1 that he becomes the latest attacking midfielder to arrive at Chelsea.

Tottenham 10/11
Real Madrid 4/1
Man City 8/1
Barcelona 10/1
Man Utd 20/1
