Money keeps pouring on Mourinho making summer Chelsea return

Published:

Some reports suggest that a three-year contract has already been agreed and if this is true, 4/7 is a fantastic price that Jose Mourinho returns to manage Chelsea this summer.

Various comments have been doing the rounds relating to Mourinho, with the main ones being that Chelsea will “always be in his heart” and that he will return to manage again in the Premier League in the future.

Chelsea interim boss Rafa Benitez is almost certain to be let go in the summer, while Mourinho’s time at Real Madrid also seems to have run its course.

He remains dedicated to the Real Madrid cause until the end of the campaign as he bids to emulate Bob Paisley in winning the Champions League three times as a manager and becoming the first ever to do so with three different clubs.

The fact that Mourinho still owns a property in London is another reason why a return to Stamford Bridge is being mooted, while his daughter is expected to take up a place at Camberwell Art College in the next academic year.

Meanwhile, another chance to win the Champions League with Chelsea must appeal to Mourinho, as this was the one major achievement that passed him by on his previous stint in London.

It is fair to say that Roman Abramovich has never truly replaced the Special One since his departure in 2007, with Mourinho’s previous tenure bringing in two Premier League titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup.

If Mourinho is not the next Chelsea boss, it is 12/1 that Gianfranco Zola is, with David Moyes 14/1 in this market, Guus Hiddink 16/1 and Gus Poyet 20/1 having recently been heavily backed to take over at Reading.
