Wigan v Norwich: Hosts most likely winners, but both teams can score

Published:

Norwich may have specialised in the goalless draw in 2013 thus far, but there is a strong possibility that both teams will be on target when they travel to Wigan in the next round of Premier League fixtures.

Picking a winner in the clash is tricky, as Norwich have failed to win a single away game against opposition starting the Bank Holiday weekend in the bottom half of the Premier League standings.

Meanwhile, Wigan have yet to beat Norwich in any of their three Premier League career meetings.

Roberto Martinez’ men are 10/11 to triumph with home advantage and at least have secured victories in four of their last five fixtures in all competitions.

Norwich are 3/1 to take maximum points from a first Premier League away game in 2013, with the draw priced at 12/5 and the slightly favoured of the three options.

The Canaries have shared the spoils in six of their last nine and this is aided by drawing four of their outings in 2013 0-0.

Another goalless draw here to ensure they are on last on Match of the Day is 8/1, but 3/4 may be the best bet on offer than both teams score at the DW Stadium.

Not a single clean sheet has been kept by either side in all of Wigan’s home games against opposition to start the weekend outside of the top seven or in their three Premier League meetings with Norwich.

Wes Hoolahan has been a large factor is this, as he has found the target in all three of these games for Norwich, while also scoring in their last encounter away at Sunderland.

Hoolahan is 10/1 to open the scoring for the second successive round of Premier League fixtures and 10/3 to add his name to the scoresheet at any time in the 90 minutes.
