14:00 Aintree: My Tent Or Yours to repeat victories of stablemates

Published:

Rewind back 12 months and Darlan headed the betting for this Top Novices’ Hurdle and ran out a comfortable winner, having taken second in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham on his previous start.

My Tent Or Yours is considered in parts to be the next Darlan in waiting and can follow in the footsteps of his former stablemate with victory here at 4/11.

In fact, Granville Again, Joe Mac and Straw Bear are other examples since 1991 to have won this directly after taking second in the Cheltenham Festival opener.

Many are expecting My Tent Or Yours to be a serious Champion Hurdle contender next season and if these views are to be proved right, he simply has to win this.

Competition looks a little thin on the ground among the other four entries, with My Tent Or Yours considered at least 10lb superior to each of them.

If there is little in the way of early pace and the race turns into a bit of a burn up, Forgotten Voice could lay down a challenge at 4/1.

He was impressive in a contest that panned out this way last time at Kempton, but remains unproven in a more strongly-run race.

Zuider Zee appears to have untapped potential, but whether he is up to winning this at such an early stage of his hurdles career remains to be seen. A price of 12/1 reflects that.

But in terms of finding a horse to put in the forecast with My Tent Or Yours, preference is for the lowly-rated Art Of Logistics at 25/1, who will be fond of the drying ground and will be ridden by the much talked about Bryan Cooper.

Given that he has not raced on anything faster than soft going, there is the belief that there is more to come from him.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
