Michu odds against to top score for Swans despite Bony arrival

Michu was without doubt one of the finds of the season in the 2012-13 campaign.
The Spaniard was brought in from Rayo Vallecano for a mere £2m and went on to hit 18 league goals in a fantastic campaign for both himself and Swansea.
However, the signing of Wilfied Bony from Vitesse has means that Michu offers great value to be the Swans top goalscorer.
The 27-year-old is 6/5 to be the Welsh outfit’s premier marksmen once again, with Ladbrokes the only bookmaker offering odds against on another rampant season for the Oviedo-born striker.
Bony, nicknamed Daddy Cool, arrives from Holland for a club record £12m and possessing a fine pedigree. The Ivorian has scored 46 times in 65 appearances in the Eredivisie over the past two seasons, explaining his relatively short price of 8/11 to net more times than any other player in Michael Laudrup’s side.

It is likely that he could operate in a role behind Bony, seemingly reducing his chances of finding the net, but he never operated as a truly out-and-out centre forward in the last campaign, preferring to drop deep and receive the ball as well as getting in behind.
Indeed he regularly played in a withdrawn role behind a striker last year, and this did little to affect his eye for goal.
Bony fall foul to hoodoo that has scuppered recent Premier League’s club record signings.
The two stand-outs here obviously lie with Andy Carroll and Fernando Torres who moved for £35m and £50m respectively and went on to endure terrible debut seasons.
The Spanish international scored just once in 14 league appearances after his January move, while Carroll struggled with injury and scored just 6 goals for the Reds before being farmed out on loan to West Ham last term.
The Pensioners’ record on this front is no better with Andriy Shevchenko bestowed with the honour of being the club’s most expensive player prior to Torres going on to net just four times in the Premier League in 2006-07, despite arriving as the most sought-after striker on the continent.
