Fiorentina and Bilbao to continue their good start to the season

Two potential crackers from southern Europe provide the perfect opportunity for a televised game double, with Athletic Bilbao and Fiorentina looking stand-out bets. The double pays just shy of 3/1 and looks well worth consideration.

Fiorentina to beat Parma (3/5)

When a manager tells his next opponents to expect “competitive rage” from his players, you need to take notice. Following their narrow defeat to Inter, Vincenzo Montella’s side sit fifth in Serie A and look set to get back to winning ways.

That loss was their first of the season. Over the same weekend, visitors Parma were recording their maiden victory of a campaign that is now six games in. It was a somewhat fortuitous win, where every shot seemed to find its way into the net.

Unfortunately for them, that 4-3 victory over Atalanta also saw the sending off of frontman Amauri. The striker will now sit out a return to his former club and will be a big miss up-top for Parma.

Having been unable to string two good performances together this campaign, they should be brushed aside by a strong Fiorentina side.

Athletic Bilbao to beat Granada (29/20)

Having netted two or more times in five of their last six games, Bilbao are on a roll and look set to improve on a disappointing 2012/13 campaign that saw them finish 12th. But where they have flourished in front of goal, Granada have stuttered.

Just one goal in five contests leaves the Andalucian’s just one place above the relegation zone at this early stage. With just an opening day triumph to their name this season, they will be keen to get three points here.

However, at 29/20, the visitors look pure value here. With Granada’s impotency in front of goal, Bilbao’s questionable defending doesn’t look like being troubled too much. What should be another three points for Ernesto Valverde’s side looks the perfect selection to round off this solid double.
