Yeager looks the stand-out for the Cambridgeshire if he makes the cut

Jeremy Noseda’s Yeager looked sublime when leaving the field behind over a very good mile at Ascot back in July and the three-year-old looks the stand-out in the ante-post market for the Cambridgeshire at 20/1.
When victorious in the aforementioned race he went off at the same price and travelled brilliantly cruising past the likes of Machete Mark and Intrigo to register a formidable success.
The Charles Fox-owned colt sat at the rear of the pack before pouncing in the final furlong to win easily, as had been the case in an earlier contest at Leicester and will undoubtedly bide his time once again.
Noseda held that victory in such high regard that he upped his saddle to a Grade 1 contest in the US.
He was ultimately ousted in the ArlingtonPark race but looked good until the final turn, running in fifth place before getting lost in the field and never regaining touch with the leaders.
Despite being somewhat outclassed over the pond Yeager showed enough in his Ascot display to suggest that he will be challenging for glory come the end of September.
Another three-year-old that catches the eye is the fast improving Short Squeeze, who is 12/1.
The Irish Hugo Palmer trained gelding is rated at 94, the same as Yeager, and showed his calibre when leaving the rest for dead over a mile at York last time out.
The rating of the pair could prove an issue, with 94 usually straddling the cut-off point for the showpiece, but should the duo just sneak in they will be favourably weighted.
It is the American horse that appears to have the edge and that Grade 1 experience and dominance over the distance showed that there is plenty to come from this young horse.
