Lukaku grabbing the attentions of Italian champions Juventus

While Chelsea seem to be the only club to underrate their loaned out striker Romelu Lukaku, Serie A title holders Juventus are reportedly keeping tabs and could swoop in January.

Chelsea’s continued lack of faith in the abilities of their 22-year-old Belgian striker could yet come back to haunt them, as a change of the player’s agent may yet lead Lukaku straight into the welcome arms of Juventus.

Since parent club Chelsea decided to palm Lukaku off for a second successive season’s loan – this time to Everton – the Turin-based side have been alerted to the possibility of pushing through a deal.

And any potential transfer is made more likely by Lukaku’s new Italian agent Mino Raiola, who has previously orchestrated Paul Pogba’s switch from Manchester United to Juve and is rumoured to have strong links with many of Italy’s top clubs.

After scoring 17 Premier League goals on loan at West Brom last season, Lukaku was firmly expecting to be brought back into the Stamford Bridge fold under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Instead, the £18m signing from Anderlecht was offered out to Everton on loan, which was reportedly received with understandable annoyance by the Belgian, as Mourinho opted to bring in a 32-year-old Samuel Eto’o, with no Premier League experience, instead.

Where Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba have failed to score a single Premier League between them this season, Everton have already been treated to three in just two appearances, by the player who ironically is already drawing comparisons with Didier Drogba.

Chelsea do not have a great recent record of harbouring young talent either, with both Daniel Sturridge and Victor Moses now flourishing at Liverpool, though the latter still belongs to the Blues.

Lukaku seems to have fitted like a glove at Goodison Park though, as he did at the Hawthorns last season and with three Premier League goals already, makes a tempting bet at 16/1 to become the league’s top scorer.
