Jordan can lead Taylor Dawson to Strictly success
Published:Soap star Ashley Taylor Dawson can follow in the footsteps of former Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris Hollins and lift the Glitterball trophy with professional dancer Ola Jordan.
The popular Pole led newsreader Hollins to glory in the 2009 edition of the hit BBC One show and the 31-year-old can work her magic with current celebrity partner Taylor Dawson, starting with a Rumba to ‘A Whole New World’ from Disney’s Aladdin.
There are plenty of comparisons that can be made between the Hollyoaks heartthrob’s Strictly story and that of former winner Hollins.
The journalist is the only celebrity in the history of the Strictly ballroom not to have featured in the dreaded dance-off during a series and Taylor Dawson, who is proving a hit with the ladies with his revealing outfits, is well on the way to repeating the feat this year.
The 31-year-old, who is 2/7 favourite with Ladbrokes to finish as the competition’s top male contestant, has improved his scores with judges week by week and has not featured in the bottom two in eight weeks of the programme so far.
Another interesting comparison comes in the form of the Rumba. Hollins danced his way into the final with the Cuban themed dance to the Bonnie Tyler hit “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, and Ashley and Ola, known as Team Olash to their fans, can follow suit this week, all be it to (?)reach the quarter-finals.
However, this Latin dance, which has proven to be difficult for male celebrities in the past, does not come without its pitfalls and Jordan has plenty of experience of Rumba ‘di-sas-ters’.
Rugby Star Kenny Logan and magician Paul Daniels, both former dance partners of the diminutive professional dancer, succumbed to Rumba in their respective editions of the dancing show.
However, Taylor Dawson, who is 7/1 to win the competition, has already proved he is a step above that duo and can use the Musicals week as a springboard for further glory.
