King of Stats: Ibrahimovic features in Champions League numbers

Published:

The fifth gameweek of the Champions League group stages is here and which 16 teams qualify for the knockout stages of the competition will be a lot clearer once the results are in.

The King of Stats has been using some temperamental powers of moving forward in time to provide some winning bets, with a heavy Juventus win, goals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Arsenal having a relatively quiet night in front of goal all making the final list.

8 – Bayer Leverkusen have won their last eight home matches in the group stages of the Champions League, including a victory over Chelsea in their last campaign in 2011/12. Man Utd are their next visitors, with Leverkusen 7/5 to secure the three points necessary to confirm their qualification for the knockout stages.

4 – Juventus beat Danish opposition 4-0 at home in the Champions League last season when defeating FC Nordsjælland, having previously drawn away to the same opposition 1-1. This season they have drawn 1-1 in Denmark again with Copenhagen and are now 9/1 to repeat the previous run of results with a 4-0 victory.

3 – Real Madrid have scored inside the opening 15 minutes in their last three fixtures in all competitions at the Bernabeu, including when hosting Juventus in their last Champions League home game with Juventus. It is 13/5 that they are beating Galatasaray after 15 minutes in their next Group B fixture.

6 – Arsenal may well be known for their attacking talent, but lots of goals have not been overly common in their fixtures of late. Each of the last six involving the Gunners gone under 2.5 goals and it is 23/20 that the same happens again against Marseille.

3 – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored twice or more in three of PSG’s last five home matches, including a hat-trick in the last against Nice. It is 10/1 he helps himself to another against Olympiakos.

4 – AC Milan have failed to win on their last four visits to Scotland and travel to a Celtic side that have triumphed in eight of their last 11 European nights in Glasgow. Milan are winless in seven in all competitions too. Celtic are 2/1 to beat Milan and 11/10 in the draw no bet market.

0 – Austria Vienna have failed to score a single goal in their four Champions League outings so far this season and travel to a Porto team that have shut out the opposition in five of their nine home games this season. Porto are 9/20 to keep a clean sheet against Austria Vienna and 3/5 to win to nil.
