Ladbrokes slash Essex odds after Bushtucker Trial success
Published:Joey Essex is the now the evens favourite to win I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after triumphing over broadcaster Matthew Wright in the first Bushtucker Trial.
Ladbrokes have been forced to slash The Only Way Is Essex star’s odds to win the reality show after he chewed his way through a ‘Monday Night Takeaway’ to win five meals for his Snake Rock campmates.
Both he and Wright munched through jungle delicacies such as pork chow brains, ostrich penis, camel toe, a scorpion and turkey testicles to win food for their teams.
And with the duo showing guts and determination to finish their jungle cuisine the contest came down to a tie-break – a cocktail of crushed cockroaches.
Essex, accustomed to chugging down various alcoholic beverages in TOWIE, seemed at home supping down the cockroach concoction and beat his rival to the punch, taking home five meals.
After his efforts, the 23-year-old is now 8/11 to be the leading male in the Aussie jungle.
Gallant loser Wright ended up empty handed and is 20/1 to win the show, while the Wright Stuff host is 12/1 to become King of the Jungle and to be this editions top man.
With Essex and Wright putting up a great showing in the first Bushtucker Trial the public have spoken again and the duo will feature in the second trial which will see them put in a pair of giant hourglasses designed to bury them up to their necks in sand and insects.
Meanwhile, after two days of the hit ITV show Westlife star Kian Egan is 9/2 in the show winner market, while snooker hot-shot legend Steve Davis is 5/1.
Olympic gold medalist Rebecca Adlington leads the way for the girls at 14/1 closely followed by Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter at odds of 16/1.
