Tendulkar 7/2 with Ladbrokes to score final Test century

Published:

Sachin Tendulkar will play his final Test match for India this week with Ladbrokes making him 7/2 to go out with a bang and score a century against the West Indies.

But the Little Master, who has gone 39 innings in the Test arena without reaching three figures, is 10/1 to be given out for a duck in his last match before retirement.

In the first Test, Tendulkar’s only contribution with the bat was ended after he was controversially given out lbw by umpire Nigel Llong in the first innings for just 10 when the ball looked to be travelling over the stumps.

And with the 40-year-old falling lbw in his last three innings in the longer form of the game, he is 5/2 at Ladbrokes to fall the same way at the Wankhede Stadium.

However, as the old adage goes form is temporary, class is permanent and there could be time for one last fairytale ending for the Indian legend’s 200th and final Test appearance.

And to add to the script, the middle order batsman brings down the curtain on a remarkable career in Mumbai at the stadium where he made his first class debut and the scene of India’s World Cup triumph in 2011.

Tendulkar, who has hit only one Test hundred on his home ground, is 16/1 with the bookmaker  to go one better and score the sixth double hundred of his career.

It’s a 33/1 shot that the Master Blaster, who has amassed 15,847 runs and 51 centuries, beats his Test best score of 248 which he hit against Bangladesh in Dhaka nine years ago.

For the perfect ending, the firm are 8/1 for India to win the Test match with Tendulkar being the top first innings runscorer for the hosts.
