Ladbrokes best price on England and every team in World Cup

Published:

To celebrate the auspicious occasion of the World Cup 2014 draw in Brazil, Ladbrokes will be offering an industry best price on every one of the qualified nations to win it on the day of the draw itself.

The firm have pledged not to be beaten by any other fixed-odds rival on the oddschecker.com grid, until the moment the draw starts. At present, this means favourites Brazil head the betting at 7/2 with England’s chances rated slimly at a whopping 28/1.

Seven-time finalists and three-time winners Germany are next after the Samba Boys at 11/2, while two-time winners Argentina are well-fancied alongside holders Spain at 6/1.

Looking at the draw specifically, England are 100/1 to end up in a ‘group of death’ with Spain, Chile and the USA, with the same odds offered that the Three Lions end up in what appears to be on paper the easiest group; Switzerland, Algeria and Honduras.

The book is also open on how far Roy Hodgson’s team will progress in the tournament regardless of group opposition, with a group stage and second-round elimination joint favourites at 2/1.

It’s 6/1 England crash-out by their favoured method of a penalty shoot-out at any point, while 16/1 says they’ll end the runners-up in Brazil.

World Cup specials and outright betting will be continually updated throughout the draw on the newly-launched World Cup tab too.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Anyone who fancies their World Cup pick to land a plum draw can get plenty of value. We expect Brazil and Spain to be the best backed with England approaching a price some may find too big to turn down too.”

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
