Real Madrid are already spoilt for choice with their attacking options but Carlo Ancelotti still has his eye on a striker.
Since the departure of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli the Italian has been eager to add to his pool of centre forwards, which at present contains just Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata.
The former Chelsea boss has identified Wayne Rooney as his number one target.

Rooney caused a stir last season when he expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford, but David Moyes worked hard to keep hold of the 28-year-old and his persistence paid off with the England striker hitting eight goals this term and laying on a league-best eight assists for his team-mates.
The ex-Everton man is now thought to be settled at the Theatre of Dreams after clear the air talks with the manager but interest from La Liga is sure to massage that urge to test his mettle abroad.
This could prove the last chance for Rooney to have a crack at a foreign league with him at the peak of his footballing powers.
Morata is likely to leave, be that in the summer or January, which would leave a hole in Ancelotti’s team that he is hopeful the United talisman will be keen to fill.
Madrid are willing to wait to the summer to allow Rooney’s contract to run down, in the hope that their interest will encourage him to hold-off on signing a new deal, meaning the nine-time European champions can snare him for a bargain price in the summer.
Much will depend on the Reds performance this term, but with Moyes’ side sitting seventh after a weak start, and as long as 16/1 to win the title and 6/4 to secure Champions League football, Rooney could be on his way to the Bernabeu should the Manchester club continue to falter.
