However, for three of those teams that is a distinct possibility, with the odds on the treble of underdogs winning paying a handsome 75/1.
Welcoming Mark Robins’ out-of-form Championship side to Blundell Park will play right into Grimsby’s hands, not least because they’ve only lost once there since mid-October, a run that stretches 10 games.
Their pedigree for upsetting the odds in this season’s FA Cup is already laid out, having knocked out League Two leaders Scunthorpe on their way to this tie.
Facing a side from step-two is obviously a harder proposition, but Huddersfield’s solitary win in six matches aides their cause.
Another Conference-on-Championship clash here with Macclesfield, 11th in the Conference, hosting relegation-threatened Wednesday.
Again it is home form that tips the scales in the non-league outfit’s favour, with the Silkmen stringing together a 12-game unbeaten run in their own confines, the last four of which have been wins.
Stuart Gray’s strugglers on the other hand have only won one match on the road all season, and just three of their last ten home or away.
Stoke’s form – four losses and three draws in their last nine games – leaves them just five points off relegation and means the FA Cup will be used as a chute to lighten the fixture card’s load rather than a confidence builder.
That’s a move that’ll likely see them gleefully exit the competition as Leicester have racked up four consecutive wins and have only failed to win five of their 14 road games this season.
