Miami Heat @ New York Knicks
One short season on from landing the second best record in the East, few could have predicted the cataclysmic plummet in fortunes the Knicks have experienced this time around.
Heading into this battle with the two-time champion Heat, Carmelo Anthony rank 25th out of 30 with a record of 12-22.
Meanwhile, Miami sits second in the East and third in the NBA with a 27-8 record, making them the understandable 1/4 favourites for the win, with the Knicks at 3/1.
Things have been on the upturn for the Madison Square Garden side of late, with their slim 89-85 win over Detroit their second in a row and third in four games.
The best bet of the night however, remains the 5/6 that the Heat soar over their assigned 102.0 total point line. They’ve averaged 108.5 in their last ten games and should enjoy more success against a banged-up Knicks.
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Denver Nuggets
Last time out was a defensive nightmare for the Thunder. Facing the division’s worst record and worst offensive outfit in the Utah Jazz , Oklahoma allowed them to land 58 percent of their shots – the first time that’s happened against the Thunder this season – in a 112-101 loss.
The fact they now face a recently awakened offensive monster is bad news for them, but music to the ears of total points backers.
The Nuggets have strung three wins together, scoring 125.7 points on average in those games and combined with the Thunder’s All-Star offensive weapons in Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook can overcome the 209.5 total points mark at 10/11.
