Barney to roll back the years with win in Premier League

Published:

Michael van Gerwen took all the headlines from week one of the Premier League with his incredible 7-0 whitewash of Phil Taylor.

But this week our news team are looking to take the limelight with a successful 8/1 four-fold from the action in Bournemouth.

A £10 stake on Raymond van Barneveld, Peter Wright, Taylor and MVG all to win returns £88 on what could be a profitable night of arrows.

Van Barneveld to beat Newton @ 4/7

Barney rolled back the years averaging 108 in his opening night victory over Gary Anderson.

The Dutchman, who has reached the play-offs six times since joining the PDC in 2006, can follow that up with another solid performance against an out-of-sorts Wes Newton.

The Warrior has struggled to transform his solid recent form to the Premier League stage and Van Barneveld, who hit a nine-darter in the first Premier League Darts night in Bournemouth eight years ago, can take full advantage.

Wright to beat Chisnall @ evens

The two Premier League newcomers were successful on their debuts in the competition last week and this clash could prove crucial in either player’s hopes of a play-off spot.

Chisnall holds a 4-2 win record over Snakebite but in recent months it has been the 43-year-old West Lothian dartist taking all the headlines with his colourful character and run to the Ladbrokes World Championship final.

And while Chizzy was in great form beating Robert Thornton 7-5, expect the Snakebite band wagon to roll onto week three with another impressive victory.

Taylor to beat Lewis @ evens

It’s not often talks of a Taylor demise take centre stage after a night at the Premier League but that is exactly what happened after the Power’s shock 7-0 humbling at the hands of Michael van Gerwen.

But one week on and two nine dart finishes later, the world no. 2 looks like his normal self again  as he tries to bounce back in this crucial clash with fellow Stokie Adrian Lewis.

Jackpot was on the end of one of Taylor’s perfect legs at the UK Open qualifiers last weekend as the tungsten legend ran out a 6-2 winner in Wigan.

It could be another tough night for the two-time champion of the world against a fired up and rejuvenated Power.

Van Gerwen to beat Thornton @ 2/5

It should be business as usual for World Champion Michael van Gerwen as he looks to follow up his whitewash of Phil Taylor with victory over Robert Thornton.

Thornton proved to be a thorn in the side of MVG when the pair played out a 6-6 draw in the early rounds of last year’s competition, but the Dutchman reasserted his dominance with 7-1 win on his way to the title.

With Mighty Mike playing some exceptional darts expect something similar to the latter scoreline as we hope the reigning champion can seal this four-fold accumulator.

And Finally….Anderson to beat Whitlock @ evens

For the more adventurous of you add Gary Anderson to beat Simon Whitlock for a clean sweep of results and a 17/1 accumulator.

The Flying Scotsman was totally outclassed against RVB on the opening night but he can get his bid for a second Premier League title back on track with victory over the Wizard.

Anderson has won his last three against the Aussie and can continue this winning streak with the world no. 3 out of form.
