England primed for Wales clash insists scrum-half Care

England’s impressive Six Nations victory over Ireland has set up a massive showdown with reigning champions Wales at Twickenham and matchwinner Danny Care says his side are up for the battle.

Stuart Lancaster’s men are now the 11/8 favourites with Ladbrokes to win the championship and they are 4/9 to win the triple crown with victory over Wales.

Scrum-half Care insists his side are relishing the crunch clash with Warren Gatland’s side and if they front up with the same fight they showed in derailing Ireland’s Grand Slam bid then they will be hard to back against at rugby union HQ.

We’re looking forward to a massive game against Wales,” Care told BBC Radio 5 live.

“We’ve given ourselves a chance [of winning the Six Nations],” added Care.

“We know we have to keep improving, keep getting better and take each game as it comes.

“Obviously Wales is going to be a huge game. They played really well on Friday so they are going to come here full of confidence. Hopefully it will be another great game.”

Despite England’s recent form Wales have history in their sights as they bid to become the first side in history to win a third straight Six Nations crown.

Gatland’s men, who are 9/2 with the bookmaker to defend their title, bounced back to form with an impressive display against the French in Cardiff.

Wales have only won once at Twickenham in the history of the Six Nations but they will be determined to improve their record in London and deny England a triple crown, which is on at 7/4.
