Ladbrokes are top price on all Six Nations first try scorer bets

Published:

If you’re thinking of having a flutter on the feast of Six Nations matches this weekend then make sure you kick things off with Ladbrokes’ tasty appetiser of best price on all first try scorer bets.

Here are three men we think are very well placed to be the first to spring over the scoring line in their respective clashes…

Ireland v Wales: Brian O’Driscoll to score the first try @ 16/1

There are plenty of players offering fantastic value in this possible Grand Slam decider in Dublin, like Wales’ winger Alex Cuthbert at 9/1, who crashed over in the opening minutes against Italy and was the tournament’s top try scorer last year.

However, at a whopping 16/1, there are not many better value picks than Six Nations all-time leading try scorer O’Driscoll, who has scored more tries (7) against the Welsh than any other nation.

Scotland v England: Mike Brown to score the first try @ 12/1

Having not registered a five-point score in three competitive outings, and after suffering a heavy opening defeat to the Irish, the Scots are really struggling at present.

England will not want to be caught short in the opening stages again and should take the game to the Scottish from the whistle in order to make amends for sloppy early concessions in Paris.

With the pitch likely to be a mud bath in central areas the wingers will offer the main threat and after landing an impressive debut score for the White Rose last time out, Mike Brown is a great pick at the odds.

France v Italy: Yoann Huget to score first try @ 6/1

Although England’s tormentor from Paris offers the shortest odds by a distance, Huget proved he’s the man to be in the right place at the right time for France.

Huget’s double score in the first half of their opening match with England went a long way to sealing Stuart Lancaster’s men’s fate and he will have to much nous for the Italians defences.
