Three Manchester City men to back for goals in Barcelona

Published:

Manchester City were woeful in their FA Cup quarter-final against Wigan but despite that setback the Sky Blues’ array of stars should not be dismissed to find the net against a similarly out-of-sorts Barcelona.

The Catalans are 8/15 to win with Ladbrokes, but come into this fixture of the back of a 1-0 defeat to relegation threatened Real Valladolid – a game that saw Barcelona fail to keep a clean sheet for the third consecutive time, shipping five goals over those three games.

It all points to the potential for an upset, with Manchester City on at 9/2 to win the match and 11/1 to qualify, though if they are to do that, Manuel Pellegrini’s team may need goals from any one, if not all, of our picks for anytime strikes.

Samir Nasri to score anytime @ 5/1

While some in the City ranks have struggled in recent weeks, the Frenchman has hit form at a critical time for the Citizens and should be backed to score at the Camp Nou following a recent run of goals for the Sky Blues.

Nasri found the net against the Latics on Sunday and after scoring an absolute screamer in their previous outing against Sunderland at Wembley in the Carling Cup Final, he will be out to make it three games and three goals for the visitors.

Yaya Toure to score anytime @ 4/1

The Ivorian’s knack for grabbing key goals was on show earlier this month, with a crucial strike in the Citizens’ 1-0 Premier League victory over Stoke and another memorable thunderbolt against the Black Cats at Wembley.

A tally of 17 goals in 34 appearances for the Sky Blues is no mean feat and Toure will be eager to impress upon his return to the Camp Nou, having previously enjoyed success as a Barcelona player over three seasons before his big money move to the Premier League.

Sergio Aguero to score anytime @ 5/2

He may only just be back from injury, but Aguero’s impressive record makes him too good an anytime pick to ignore, with the Argentine notching up six goals in five Champions League appearances this season.

City certainly missed the 25-year-old for the first leg and with an incredible 26 goals in 25 games this term, the striker could be one to watch for a Sky Blues side that has scored eight goals away from home in Europe this term.
