NBA: Indiana Pacers to inflict record loss on 76ers

Published:

Philadelphia are one loss away from suffering the longest losing streak in franchise history and a visit to Indiana – to play the Eastern Conference-leading Pacers – is the last place they’d want to go.

Indiana are such heavy favourites to win the match that a £66 stake would return a profit of just one English pound so backing the Pacers in the Point Spread market is the only way to go.

Add in wins for Brooklyn and Atlanta over Phoenix and Charlotte respectively and a stake of £10 could mean much healthier returns of £62.65.

Indiana Pacers (-20) to beat Philadelphia 76ers @ 10/11

With the Pacers (49-17) already guaranteed a playoff berth, Frank Vogel’s men could be forgiven for taking their foot of the gas over the coming games.

However, three wins on the bounce shows they are looking to maintain their strong form into the postseason and ego-boosting matchups don’t come much bigger at present than the visiting 76ers (15-51).

While the Pacers are 19-3 from 22 at home, Philadelphia come into the game looking to avoid an embarrassing franchise record of 21 straight defeats.

Brett Brown’s side last tasted victory on January 29th and after losing four of their last six against the Pacers look doomed to defeat again.

A spread of 20 points may look on the large side, but with Indiana priced at 1/66 on the money line and Philly unable to buy a win it is the only way to go.

Brooklyn Nets to beat Phoenix Suns @ 10/19

After a shaky first half of the season Brooklyn (33-31) now look nailed on for a playoff spot and Jason Kidds’ men will be confident of securing a fifth straight win over the visiting Suns (38-28).

The Nets have enjoyed their meetings with Western Conference outfits since the turn of the year, going 10-3 from 13 matches – and after a five-game win streak at the Barclays Center must be backed to win again in front of their own fans.

Phoenix are 13-6 from 19 meetings with the New York side, but with the Nets taking the spoils in most of their recent matchups it is the hosts who get the nod this time round.

Atlanta Hawks to beat Charlotte Bobcats @ 23/20

Atlanta (29-35) are approaching form again at just the right time if they are to secure a path to the postseason.

The Hawks go into tonight’s game in search of a season’s best fourth straight win and despite the Bobcats’ (33-34) home form will be confident of doing just that.

Charlotte are 6-1 from their last seven and 5-0 from five at the Time Warner Cable Arena but the Hawks are 11-0 from 11 meetings with tonight’s hosts and with playoff qualification in the balance have all the motivation they need to extend that impressive run.
