Championship betting: Foxes and Boro ready to deliver double

| 22.04.2014

Leicester City are primed to take this season’s Championship crown with victory at Bolton Wanderers while Middlesbrough can deliver a hammer blow to Reading’s play-off dreams on another night of pivotal Football League action.

A £10 double on both of those results pays exactly £90 with Ladbrokes with plenty of reasons to get involved and back the away sides to do the business.

Leicester to beat Bolton @ 5/4

Nigel Pearson’s Leicester outfit head to the Reebok Stadium to take on Bolton knowing that a 29th league win of the season would seal the Championship title.

That alone should provide enough incentive for the Foxes to see off form team Bolton and ensure Wanderers are denied just a second win in their last eight meetings with Leicester in all competitions.

Added to that, Leicester have gone 11 games unbeaten on the road in the second tier, winning seven of those outings, and look good to finish off the job in Lancashire.

David Nugent’s 21-goals this season have been a key factor in their promotion-winning campaign. The former Portsmouth striker is available at 5/4  to get on the scoresheet while Bolton counterpart Jermaine Beckford is a 6/1 shout to strike first for the hosts.

Middlesbrough to beat Reading @ 3/1

Having enjoyed an almost vice-like grip on the last remaining play-off spot, Reading look to have finally surrendered their position in the Championship’s top six.

And their misery is set to be compounded when they host a Middlesbrough side unbeaten in their last four on the road.

Poor home form has cost the Royals this term with Nigel Adkins’ men now winless in seven on their own patch having taken maximum points in just seven of their 21 matches at the Madjeski Stadium.

By contrast, Boro have won their last two away from home, with those results coming against high-flying Brighton and Premier League-bound Burnley.

The visitors were 3-0 victors in the reverse fixture with a Grant Leadbitter brace following-up Albert Adomah’s opener at the Riverside.

Ghanaian midfielder Adomah is 9/1 to net first on this occasion and add to his 12-goal tally this season while Boro hitman Danny Graham is a 7/1 to shot to grab the opener and a value bet of 11/5 to score at any time.

Another tempting option is to back Boro to win to nil, an 11/2 chance with Ladbrokes. Only Brighton have kept more clean sheets this season with Aitor Karanka’s boys managing 17 shutouts so far this season.
