Don’t miss Ladbrokes’ Grand National/Sports specials

| 05.04.2014

Sky Sports News presenter Jim White has reportedly picked Colbert Station to win the Grand National and he features in one of a host of interesting specials relating to the Aintree contest.

Over 20 of these specials have been created, combining a Grand National winner with other sporting events to provide a selection of doubles and trebles.

One of these is the double of Ireland’s Colbert Station landing the Grand National and any Irishman finding the target in the next round of Premier League fixtures.

The decision of Tony McCoy to ride Double Seven instead of Colbert Station may be regarded as a blow to his chances, while the fact he has shipped off his jockey on three of his last six starts is another concern.

However, he was travelling smoothly when well fancied in the Grand National last year before being caught out by The Chair and will line up with 1lb less on his back this time.

As for a Premier League scorer from Ireland, Shane Long has already netted three times since joining Hull and they are at home to Swansea, while Seamus Coleman may have the freedom of the right flank in Everton’s home clash with Arsenal if up against Lukas Podolski.

Among the alternate specials are the 20/1 that Teaforthree becomes the fourth favourite in the last 11 years to win the Grand National, alongside three goals being scored in the Stamford Bridge showdown between Chelsea and Stoke.

There is additionally a Milan-themed treble, with One In A Milan securing an Aintree success, while AC Milan and Inter Milan secure three points in their respective Serie A encounters with Genoa and Bologna.

Meanwhile, in a boxing-themed double, 28/1 is a reasonable price on Rocky Creek grinding out a Grand National success and Manny Pacquiao winning the WBO welterweight title from the unbeaten Timothy Bradley.
