Juventus set to seal Scudetto with a smashing of Sassuolo

Published:

Juventus can seal a third consecutive Serie A title with victory at Sassuolo and given the gulf in league positions and previous history between the clubs it’s hard to see any other outcome.

The Bianconeri head to the Stadio Città del Tricolore as the overwhelming 2/5 favourites for what would be their fourth consecutive victory in the league, with the Old Lady claiming wins in 10 of their last 11 domestic fixtures.

Juve were last held to a draw by Verona back in February but while that side currently occupies a credible 8th spot in the Serie A standings, Sassuolo’s league position of 17th makes the 7/2 on another stalemate here one to avoid.

The hosts may have picked up seven points from the last nine available in the league but they remain 15/2 outsiders for victory following a particularly poor run at home, with just one win from their last eight in their own backyard.

Interestingly, five of Sassuolo’s last six defeats at the Stadio Città del Tricolore have come in games in which the opposition have registered exactly two goals.

Given that statistic, the evens offered on Juventus registering between two and three here looks like the best way of capitalising.

But having already hammered them 4-0 at the Juventus Stadium in their only previously meeting in the league, and with a chance to wrap up the title in style, the Old Lady could look to hand out another hammering.

Ladbrokes is offering a tasty 16/1 on a repeat scoreline this time round, while you can also get 4/1 on over 3.5 goals for Juventus.

Much could depend on Carlos Tevez who is 3/1 to open the scoring in Sassuolo and 8/13 to score anytime.

The former Manchester City man was on the scoresheet against Benfica in midweek but was well and truly in his element when these two last met, scoring a hat-trick and the Argentine is a tempting 12/1 to get another three here.
