Leicester won’t be a let-down when they take on Sheff Wednesday

Leicester City’s relentless march to the Premier League is unlikely to be halted when Sheffield Wednesday travel to the east Midlands with the home side 4/9 to take another step towards the promised land.

Nigel Pearson’s men are unbeaten in their last 19 Championship games and tantalisingly close to a top flight return after a 10-year absence.

And while visiting Wednesday have become a resolute outfit under the stewardship of Stuart Gray, the tag of 6/1 outsiders is merited with the draw priced at 10/3 with Ladbrokes.

The latter option  may contain some value given that Leicester have been held in three of their last four outings but with the Owls losing their last three in a row on the road without scoring, it’s difficult to envisage the away side pulling off a shock.

Wednesday have won four of the pair’s last six encounters, including a league double last season, however a similar outcome looks unlikely here.

This Leicester outfit are a different beast to the side that fell short in the play-offs last season, a team that now contains the perfect blend of defensive solidity combined with enough firepower to dispatch of their opponents.

Eight of the Foxes’ 14 victories at home in the league this term have been secured by two goals or more with five of those wins by a three goal margin.

Ladbrokes go 10/3 that the margin of victory in Leicester’s favour is two goals and 11/2 for a comfortable three-goal success with Pearson able to call on a number of striking options.

David Nugent has already netted 18 times in the league this season with the former Portsmouth man 3/1 to score first and 4/6 to pounce at any time in the 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, partner in crime Chris Wood is a value price of 6/5 to feature on the scoresheet having admirably stepped in to replace the injured Jamie Vardy with two goals in his last three appearances.
