Fulham ace one of three must-buy relegation bargains this summer

Published:

For Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff the hurt of being relegated from the Premier League this season is only set to be compounded in the summer as the star men from those disappointing campaigns are snapped up by team’s who secured their top-flight status.

There’s likely to be more than one departure from the unfortunate trio of Championship-bound clubs but listed below are the three who we think will be hot property once the transfer window reopens:

Robert Snodgrass

The midfielder was Norwich’s only regular source of goals in a campaign that saw the Canaries prop up the Premier League scoring charts with just 28.

Six goals and 2.4 shots per game were both squad-leading figures for Snodgrass and his ability in dead-ball situations is an added commodity that would surely have the likes of Stoke and Crystal Palace readying some cash for his signature.

Steve Sidwell

Fulham’s 31-year-old midfielder has enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance this season with seven goals and six Whoscored.com man of the match awards, a tally that only two player’s bettered over the course of the season.

While his age may put off a few from making a move, promoted Leicester and Burnley could use Sidwell’s top-flight experience to their benefit.

Steven Caulker

Of these three, Caulker is perhaps the one who could demand interest from club’s higher up the league table.

The 22-year-old made more successful blocks than any other player in the Premier League this term and is too good to spend the season in the second tier.

Spurs have already been linked to re-signing the centre-back, whose five goals made him Cardiff’s third-top scorer, while another of the top-six to ship a half century of goals this season, Liverpool, could look to the one-cap international to bolster their defence.
