Neymar features in top 5 dodgiest haircuts of the World Cup

There have been so many beautiful aspects to World Cup 2014. There’s the football for starters, then all the sundry of fans, colour and sunshine, not to mention the electric atmospheres inside Brazil’s many stadia.

There haven’t half been some dodgy barnets on show though. Here’s a rundown of the top five head-dwelling abominations we’ve seen from players at Brazil’s carnival of football.

Neymar – Brazil

He may be the poster boy for Brazil at the finals and the 11/4 second-favourite to finish the tournament as the highest scorer with four to his name already, but Neymar needs to sort out this blonde mop/shaved head combo pronto.

Valon Behrami – Switzerland

Another player afflicted by the need to weave peroxide blonde highlights into his hair. Perhaps in this photo he’s just seen a picture of the pointed blonde mohican which runs down the back of his head like a Lions’ mane.

Arturo Vidal – Chile

Vidal has taken poetic licence with the clippers here. Is there ever a need for a two-toned shaved line that high on the loaf? But then to finish it off with a pointy ‘thing’ takes the biscuit.

David Luiz – Brazil

As hard as we tried not to play the ‘Luiz hair card’ the temptation proved too hard to resist. Just look at him.

Marcos Rojo – Argentina

Rojo’s winner against Nigeria was a fine moment indeed for the young Sporting Lisbon defender. This buzzcut/duck’s tail combo circa 1995 rave scene certainly is not his finest hour however.
