Bale’s six-trophy Real Madrid boast priced up by Ladbrokes

Ahead of the UEFA Super Cup the world’s most expensive footballer is so confident of his teammates abilities he’s suggesting a win against Sevilla in Cardiff could be the catalyst for an unprecedented six-trophy haul for Real Madrid this season.

Speaking in the city of his birth, a bronzed and beefed-up Gareth Bale laid it on the line by suggesting Real Madrid would be giving it everything to snare silverware in all six competitions they are entered in.

“We want to win everything, and we will try to do that this season,” he said.

As such Ladbrokes have responded with one of their breaking bets, offering a price of 33/1 to support Bale’s trophy claims.

That would mean Real bagging the UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup, easy!

While the Welshman wouldn’t be the first footballer in the world to proclaim such ambitions for their team, some notable additions to the Madrid squad this summer make these claims all the more intriguing.

World Cup winner and former Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos adds his classy array of passing to the Bernabeu ranks and is joined by Golden Boot winner and the architect of everything good Colombia did in an attacking sense in Brazil, James Rodriguez.

Nevertheless, as impressive as these new acquisitions are for Carlo Ancelotti’s new-look Los Merengues side, there is a strong recent trend that suggests they might even fall at the very first hurdle in Cardiff.

Bayern Munich’s penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea 12 months ago made it 10 straight seasons in which the identity of the winner had alternated between Champions League holders and Europa League champions.

Sevilla will be intent on keeping that pattern going, but if Bale and co prevail there’s just another five to go.
