Premier League Fantasy Forecast: Dier stars in low-cost defence

Whichever version you’re entered in, the first Fantasy League points are on the board and now the debates will be in full flow as to who should be lining up for the next set of Premier League fixtures.

Here at news.Ladbrokes said debates are raging after the opening weekend and we’ve decided to get ahead of the game in our new weekly check-in of who we see coming to the boil next, ready to scoop points aplenty.

Below is the team we’ve selected to bring home the bacon from matchday two of the Premier League:

In case you were umming and ahhing over which Chelsea keeper to get in for the season, Jose Mourinho’s selection policy against Burnley gives the green light to insert Thibaut Courtois between the posts – especially with Leicester the visitors to Stamford Bridge.

After his goal-scoring debut Totteham’s Eric Dier looks a great shout with QPR coming to White Hart Lane.

In a similar vein on-loan Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand slotted seamlessly into Ronald Koeman’s new-look Southampton side, who were desperately unlucky to leave Anfield empty-handed and gets the nod with West Brom in town.

Swansea skipper Ashley Williams is a guaranteed starter at the Liberty Stadium and after the Welsh club’s Old Trafford-heroics, keeping Burnley under wraps should see the big man score well.

The final spot in our modestly-priced back-four goes to versatile Crystal Palace full-back Joel Ward. After a fine season at Selhurst Park in 2013/14, Ward was outstanding at Arsenal and should prosper as the Eagles welcome goal-shy West Ham.

Anyone who didn’t have midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas in their side should now be scrambling to find the cash for Chelsea’s double-assister against Burnley and although quiet against the Saints, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho gets the nod alongside the former Arsenal man.

Coutinho’s Reds visit Manchester City and although a really tough game is expected the little Brazilian playmaker was the champions’ scourge last season, scoring against them home and away.

Dusan Tadic showed why he was the top assister in the Eredivisie last season with a cute backheel against Liverpool for Southampton and is a must against the Baggies.

One goal, one assist Swansea new boy Gylfi Sigurdsson was the top point-scorer on matchday one and looks good for further points at home to promoted Burnley.

Then the big bucks get splashed on goal-happy Aaron Ramsey, surely a fixture in any team despite the tricky-looking trip to Everton and Chelsea’s ‘Drogba MII’, Diego Costa, who should increase his tally at home to the Foxes.
