#SoundLad – We look at when music and sport collide

Published:

We believe it was the legendary Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan who put it best when he once stated that music and sport makes the world go round.

We’re with you on that one, Dave.

That’s why the good folk here at Ladbrokes News have partnered up with the @Ladbrokes team to cobble together this eclectic mix of music and sport goodness.

And we’d love you to get involved.

We call our assault on the senses #SoundLad, THE hashtag to use when sharing the best of music and sport’s most beautiful, offbeat and occasionally downright bizarre moments.

Here are our pick of the bunch…

What’s the best part of unveiling your club’s new star signing? The staged welcome in front of a packed stadium? The smiley picture of your new hero holding the club shirt?

Nah, it’s them performing their initiation song of course! Check out Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Cesc Fabregas being put through their paces at Chelsea’s training ground.

Meanwhile, over in north London Tottenham’s Andros Townsend also found YouTube fame owing to his vocal talents. Well, it hasn’t exactly been his performances on the pitch of late that have been making headlines…

Our own Chris Kamara is well known for being able to hold a tune. Here’s Kammy performing the Euro 2012 charity hit ‘Sing 4 England’.

And of course, you, the fans, love a good sing-song. Spine-tingling anthems such as ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and ‘Blue Moon’ are belted out across our green and pleasant land and beyond.

But enough of all that. Here are a load of Ajax fans singing along to ‘Three Little Birds’.
