International accumulator: Spain to beat France in fourfold

Published:

England may have already been in action against Norway at Wembley but the international action continues apace this Thursday with another fine selection of games on offer.

Here at News.Ladbrokes we genuinely can’t go more than a day without putting a football accumulator on so, with that in mind, we’ve concocted a fourfold featuring a series of all too familiar things: Spain beating France, an Italy draw, Croatia goals and Belgium boredom.

It all adds up to an accumulator offering odds of almost 40/1 – read on to find out more.

Croatia vs Cyprus – Over 2.5 goals @ 2/3

Croatia can count themselves unlucky not to have progressed past the group stage at the World Cup after hosts Brazil were gifted a dubious penalty with the scores locked at 1-1 in the tournament curtain-raiser.

Despite that disappointment, Croatia were still able to show their prowess in front of goal, scoring six times across their three group fixtures, each of which featured over 2.5 goals. With a whole host of young stars set to feature here, the one thing we can guarantee is another attacking display.

France vs Spain – Spain to win @ 19/10

While Spain suffered an early exit from the same World Cup, reports of their demise remain greatly exaggerated with La Roja possessing more than enough talent to see off a France side they have beaten in four of their last five meetings.

Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas have both hit the ground running too and with Les Bleus expected to hand debuts to newcomers like Alexandre Lacazette, the reigning European champions should have more than enough to see them off.

Italy vs Netherlands – Draw @ 19/10

The Azzurri have made something of a habit of taking their foot off the gas when it comes to friendly encounters and with both Holland and Italy welcoming new managers to the fold, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see these two teams play out a nervy, unimaginative draw.

That’s exactly what has happened the last two times these teams have played each other in non-competitive fixtures, with stalemates coming in 2009 and 2013 and with several new faces set to feature, this is an easy way for you to cash-in on the boredom.

Belgium vs Australia – Under 2.5 goals @ 21/10

In much the same way that Croatia demonstrated their attacking prowess in an all-too-brief appearance at the World Cup, so the same tournament showcased just how much Belgium rely on currently-crocked Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

Without the 23-year-old the Red Devils looked short of ideas going forward and despite facing inferior opposition en route to the quarter-finals, managed one goal or less in three of their four games at the tournament. With Romelu Lukaku also missing through injury, a drab affair could be in store.
