CSKA Moscow v Man City: Aguero to inspire Citizens

Published:

Manchester City saw off CSKA Moscow 2-1 at Arena Khimki last term, having won just one of their four Premier League away matches in 2013/14 to that point, so Manuel Pellegrini’s in-form travellers look a safe bet at 4/7 for a Champions League repeat.

However, there are plenty of clues to point us in the direction of greater profits, with the three City win bets below deemed the most wise.

Sergio Aguero to score and Man City to win @ 6/4

Grabbing all four of his side’s goals in the 4-1 win at home to Spurs means Aguero has now struck seven times in his last four appearances, and 10 in as many club matches this term.

He’s 4/5 favourite just to notch, while 7/2 says the crack Argentine hitman opens the scoring, but after Aguero claimed a match-winning brace following Zoran Tosic’s opener away to CSKA last season, backing this repeat rates the sensible option.

Man City to win 2-1 or 3-1 @ 18/5

This wager holds plenty of appeal due to last October’s result, and is further bolstered by the fact that the visitors have bagged exactly two in three of their five away games this term.

While nobody should be put off 2-1 at 7/1, the insurance of an extra City goal with Pellegrini’s men in free-scoring form (they’ve notched 10 in their last three Premier League games) may be valuable.

Both teams to score and Man City to win @ 12/5

CSKA got on the scoresheet in both matches these two played out 12 months ago, twice at the Etihad, and gave the blue half of Manchester a short fright when taking the lead at home, if only for two minutes.

Leonid Slutsky’s side have only failed to fire twice in their last 19 home matches in all competitions, dating back to October 2013, while three of City’s last four away games have seen at least one home goal.
