Football League Trophy Accumulator: Bury and Luton look good
With a whole host of Euro 2016 fixtures just around the corner, you would be forgiven for thinking there would be little in the way of legitimate football action to watch and bet on this week, however you would be very, very wrong.
Because, while the big guns of English football are all resting up, the action is continuing thick and fast in everyone’s third favourite domestic cup competition – the Football League Trophy.
Ahead of kick-off we’ve got a tempting 29/2 fourfold featuring three of the north-east’s finest lower league sides alongside…Luton.
Read on for the lowdown on what is shaping up to be a great Tuesday night of action.
Dale may have slipped to a 1-0 defeat against BarnsLey last time out at Spotland Stadium but Keith Hill should be confident of success when Walsall come visiting – the Saddlers lost 4-0 on their last trip to Greater Manchester, which was only last month.
Top of the pile in League Two, Bury returned to winning ways on Saturday, seeing off Tranmere 2-0, and look a good bet to pick up what would be their sixth straight win at Gigg Lane when a Morecambe side that has lost three of their last four visits to the ground.
Preston underlined their promotion credentials with a battling 4-2 win over Colchester last weekend to make it three wins in a row going into this home encounter against a Port Vale team that has picked up just one win from their last 10 and look likely winners.
One upset to watch out for this Tuesday, Luton look to be up and running in League Two after picking up 13 points from the last 15 available and with the Kenilworth Road faithful behind them should see off League One Crawley, who are winless in six on the road.
