International Acca: Big wins for England and Ireland

Published:

The number of teams involved in qualifying for the European Championships means that many of the matches are essentially mismatched formalities.

England will smash San Marino off the park on Thursday, while Belgium will make light work of Andorra later in the week.

However, such one-sided games can still be profitable for canny punters and here Ladbrokes News highlights a fivefold handicap accumulator that pays out at a handsome 60/1.

Read on to see why big wins could mean big gains this week.

England (-6) to beat San Marino @ 21/20

San Marino have long been the laughing stock of European football and nothing’s changed on that front with the part-timers scoring one and conceding 30 goals in their last six outings.

England have fond memories of past meetings, with the aggregate score from their four previous clashes reading 26-1 in favour of the Three Lions.

After spanking the minnows 8-0 last time round, expect another big win for Roy’s boys here.

Belgium (-4) to beat Andorra @ 11/10

Andorra are slightly more competitive than San Marino but have still scored just one goal in six games while conceding 18 in that time.

Belgium, are said to be in the midst of a golden generation and one loss and six wins from their last 10 games hints at a side in decent form so expect a comfortable win for the Red Devils.

Italy (-3) to beat Azerbaijan @ 15/8

Azerbaijan are more disciplined and organised than many give them credit for but they should still come unstuck away to Italy.

The hosts have won their last two games without conceding, while the visitors have scored one and conceded eight from their last four games.

Last time the sides met Italy ran out 4-0 winners and a similar result could well occur this time round.

Holland (-3) to beat Kazakhstan @ 10/11

The Dutch got their campaign off to a bad start when losing 2-1 to the Czech Republic but the Oranje should bounce back in style here.

Holland were unbeaten over 90 minutes in nine games before that loss and while Kazakhstan have held their own against the likes of Latvia, 3-0 and 4-0 losses to Armenia and Austria will only boost the hosts’ confidence.

Republic of Ireland (-5) to beat Gibraltar @ 8/5

Ireland have won two on the bounce and will make that three against the ex-pat haven. Gibraltar hinted at being a competitive force in their friendly encounters, with 0-0 and 1-1 draws with Slovakia and Estonia to their credit.

However, their 7-0 drubbing against Poland on their competitive debut hints at things to come and the Robbie Keane-inspired Irish should run them ragged.
