Liverpool receive major Sturridge boost ahead of West Brom

Whether or not Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge plays against West Brom is still a question only Brendan Rodgers can answer, though the Reds’ main man should at least be turning out at Anfield for many more years to come regardless.

On the eve of Liverpool’s vital Premier League with the Baggies, 25-year-old Sturridge penned a new five-year deal.

Ladbrokes customers should be aware that Liverpool are super-boosted from 9/5 to 4/1 to win the match with both teams scoring, but only for a limited time. Full terms and conditions available here.

Sturridge has been rewarded for making a huge impact at Liverpool since moving from Chelsea in January 2013, where his 21 top-flight goals last season so nearly helped deliver the title.

After scoring for England at the World Cup this summer, the former Manchester City academy graduate started the season as he had finished the last by scoring on the opening day of the season at home to Southampton.

However, since appearing for England against Norway in early September, the striker has been ruled out of action for the entire month nursing an injured thigh.

Robbed of his services and those of his partner-in-crime of last year Luis Suarez, Liverpool have suffered a terrible run of form, picking up just a single point in the ensuing three league games.

The news that this new deal is done will help lift some of the dark clouds that have been hovering over Anfield in recent weeks, while Reds fans will be desperate to see their star forward taking some part against West Brom.

The early rumours on social media suggest his misfiring replacement, Mario Balotelli, who is yet to register a Premier League goal, will be dropped to the bench regardless of Sturridge’s involvement.

In which case Rickie Lambert may well be granted a first top-flight start for his boyhood club and the Scouser is 23/20 to net anytime.
