NFL: Poor-travelling Texans must be taken on @ Steelers
Published:We’re all the way into Gameweek Seven of the NFL regular season, with in-form pair Denver Broncos, the 3/1 favourites for Super Bowl XLIX, and Dallas Cowboys stealing most of the headlines so far this autumn.
However, neither of those big guns make it into our trusty weekend acca, which will pay out at just under 13/1 with a bit of luck.
Pittsburgh Steelers -3 points to beat Houston Texans @ 5/6
Steelers’ form so far this season reads W-L-W-L-W-L, a trend that leads us to believe victory is all-but in the bag for Mike Tomlin’s men when Houston hit town.
For those not quite convinced by that logic, the visitors have lost three of their last four, with two of those defeats coming by at least five points.
Over the same time period, Pittsburgh have beaten Carolina and Jacksonville by 18 and eight points respectively.
That form suggests they’re a cracking bet to overcome a small deficit at home, against a side who have only won one of three road games thus far in the campaign.
Arizona Cardinals -3.5 to beat Oakland Raiders @ 10/11
By far the next best bet of the NFL weekend, as Oakland are yet to avoid defeat this term and take on a team who have lost just once in 2014/15.
Raiders may be getting closer, with San Diego only managing a three-point victory last time out in California, but Arizona’s 30-20 win over Washington Redskins in Gameweek Six suggests they’re still in fine fettle.
Cincinnati Bengals +3 to beat Indianapolis Colts @ 21/20
Indianapolis will be a tough nut to crack at home after winning four on the spin, but Chuck Pagano’s boys weren’t particularly overpowering in their last two fixtures, beating Baltimore and Houston by just seven and five points respectively.
The visitors have only lost once this season and bested Baltimore by the same margin as their next opponents early in the campaign, so there won’t be much between these two in Indiana.
Cleveland Browns -5.5 to beat Jacksonville Jaguars @ 10/11
Jaguars have lost all six of their 2014/15 fixtures and both matches so far this term at their EverBank Field home by at least eight points.
Meanwhile, Cleveland have won three of their past four clashes and downed Pittsburgh 31-10 last time out, following Ben Roethlisberger and co’s 17-9 victory over Jacksonville in their previous fixture.
